NSW's Favourite Urban Place - Civic laneways

NSW’s Favourite Urban Place 2025
Civic Laneways

This year’s NSW’s Favourite Urban Place poll is focusingn on civic laneways.

Small but mighty, civic laneways can have many uses. They are not just connections between main streets, they are great places in their own right, where we gather, shop, eat, or enjoy a quiet moment away from the bustle of the surrounding city. Gritty and charming, civic laneways are the hidden gems in our neighbourhoods, bringing character, connectivity, and a bit of delight to our cities and towns.

When to vote: The poll is open from 3rd October to 1st November.

How to vote: Watch this space for a link to the poll. You will be able to vote for your 3 favourite laneways from a shortlist of 15.

When do we know who won: Winners will be announced at the UDA Gala on 6 November and celebrated on UDA’s socials.

Civic Laneways (clockwise from top left): Loftus Ln, Sydney; Little Hay St, Haymarket; Kensington St, Chippendale; Ash St, Sydney; AMP Ln, Albury; Kia Ora Ln, Double Bay.

What is NSW’s Favourite Urban Place?

NSW's Favourite Urban Place is a fun, friendly poll where you can vote for the places you enjoy, so you can celebrate the everyday places where you shop, eat, relax, and connect.

We want to hear from everyone, and shine a spotlight on the vibrant, social spaces that make our neighbourhoods special.
