With 30 years professional experience in architecture, urban planning and urban design, Diana is well known for her detailed understanding of place and her strategic approach to solving complex urban challenges. She is a founding Director of Studio GL, a Registered Planner and a Fellow of the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA).

Tanya has practised urban design in government and consultancy roles bridging projects, policy and strategic planning. She writes on urbanism, authored industry reference guides, recently embraced teaching and is a Churchill Fellow. A committed advocate for the profession of urban design, she was a co-founder of the UDA.

Ravtej is an Urban Designer with over seven years of international and local experience in architecture and urban design. Having worked on major strategic projects like the Agribusiness Precinct of the Western Sydney Aerotropolis, Oxford Street Activity Precinct, and previously on Smart Cities in India, he is an advocate for sustainable urban development. With a strong focus on collaboration across diverse sectors, Ravtej is committed to bringing a fresh perspective to the UDA and mentoring the next generation of Urban Designers.

Judith is an accomplished designer with over 25 years’ experience in both government and private consultancy. As a trained landscape architect, she comes to urban design through an interest in urban ecology and how natural landscapes, built environment and modern systems come together to shape cities that enhance community and environmental well-being. Throughout her career, she has worked at the junction of strategy, planning and design, shaping urban outcomes at all scales.

Deena is an urban design educator, researcher, and practitioner with over 25 years of experience. She leverages her expertise in both industry and government to delivery strategic design outcomes and policy and to inform her teaching as Associate Professor at Sydney University. Through her UDA role, she aims to progress the profession and empower young professionals.

Russell is a highly commended Urban Designer and helped prepare Australia’s first Urban Design Guidelines for a city, in Adelaide in 1990. Since then, he has practised in Adelaide, Canberra and Sydney, winning two National Planning Awards for the City of Sydney Plan and, most recently, a national Urban Design Award commendation in 2024 for his practice Olsson Architecture and Urban Projects (with Hill Thalis AUP). With decades of experience, Russell is committed to supporting the growing urban design community in NSW, contributing his expertise to focus on key issues and assist in any capacity – from events and administration to policy and submissions.

An Urban Designer with 12 years experience delivering masterplans, structure plans, capacity studies and mapping projects across all scales and geographies. His multidisciplinary experience combines urban design, planning, GIS, view impact, visual communication and stakeholder engagement. Daniel has led award-winning projects in Regional NSW, has facilitated complex consultant and community collaboration and recognised for his evidence-based, people-centred approach delivering high quality project and place outcomes. He is also an active mentor and educator within the urban design profession.

A registered urban design with 12 years of experience. Boyd has worked on a variety of projects with a focus on transport and government-led urban regeneration. Currently employed with Sydney Metro with a focus on public art and urban design in station precincts.

Akshai is a registered urban designer with more than seven years of experience spanning urban design, architecture, and graphic design. His professional interests include transport, place-based design, identity, and Connecting with Country. He has contributed to research and written on these themes, with a particular focus on the relationship between people, place, and culture.
