2026 Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Urban Design Association (UDA) of NSW was held online, at 6:30pm on Tuesday 11th August 2026, fulfilling the requirements of our constitution.

The AGM included the appointment of 5 committee members.

Committee Appointments

Thank you to everyone who nominated for the Urban Design Association of NSW Committee.

This year five nominations were received. As the number of nominees did not exceed the number of vacancies, in accordance with the UDA Constitution, we did not need to hold a vote, and all nominees were appointed to the Committee at the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Congratulations to our incoming Committee members and we ask for your support as we all work together to advance the profession of urban design.

Meet the Incoming Committee

Daniel Pantelas

Associate Director, Urban Design with 12 years experience delivering masterplans, structure plans, capacity studies and mapping projects across all scales and geographies. His multidisciplinary experience combines urban design, planning, GIS, view impact, visual communication and stakeholder engagement. Daniel has led award-winning projects in Regional NSW, has facilitated complex consultant and community collaboration and recognised for his evidence-based, people-centred approach delivering high quality project and place outcomes. He is also an active mentor and educator within the urban design profession.

Ravtej Singh

I am an Urban Designer with over seven years’ experience delivering civic, community and strategic planning projects across NSW. Over the past two years, I have served on the UDA Committee, including the past year as Treasurer, overseeing budgeting, financial reporting and governance while working closely with the Association’s accountant. Beyond my Treasurer role, I manage the UDA website, Membership Portal, Webinars, and digital communications, and played a key role in transitioning the UDA to a paid membership model. Through these roles, I have developed a broad understanding of the UDA’s operations and the opportunities to strengthen and grow the Association.

Judith Fritsche

Judith is an accomplished designer with over 25 years’ experience in both government and private consultancy. As a trained landscape architect, she comes to urban design through an interest in urban ecology and how natural landscapes, built environment and modern systems come together to shape cities that enhance community and environmental well-being. Throughout her career, she has worked at the junction of strategy, planning and design, shaping urban outcomes at all scales.

Boyd Barber

I am a registered urban design with 12 years of experience. My career has taken me to the United Kingdom and Aotearoa New Zealand before finding my way home to Australia and to Sydney 4 years ago. I have worked on a variety of projects with a focus on transport and government-led urban regeneration. I am currently employed with Sydney Metro with a focus on public art and urban design in station precincts.

Akshaisankar Sabu

I am a registered urban designer with over six years of experience across architecture, urban design, and graphic design. As an Urban Designer at DesignInc, my work focuses on transport, place-based design, and embedding First Nations perspectives in planning and design. I contribute to research and have published on identity, placemaking, and Connecting with Country. I have also supported design education through university tutoring. Previously, I served on the PIA Emerging Planners Committee for three years, leading events and social media sub-committees, and fostering engagement among emerging planning professionals.

We will appoint the new Committee at the AGM on Tuesday 11 August.
